The unification of school system all over America allows schools to drill the idea of national identity into students. The national identity can be broken down into three aspects:
1) Ethnic- "I'm an American. My classmates and I share an unique cultural background."
2) Social- "I live in America. This is my home country, my territory."
3) Official- "I'm a republican/democrat. I am loyal to my country and the government."

In 1892, a socialist named Francis Bellamy created the Pledge of Allegiance. Now, every class day over 60 million teachers and students in the US recite the Pledge of Allegiance
.

"I pledge allegiance to my flag and to the Republic for which it stands -- one nation indivisible -- with liberty and justice for all."
